A little town called "NEHI" (see 0901agpart2A2)
Rual and urban in all different areas
Men stand by bulidings
Talking about their wives and children
Except one the tall one standing up
His name is Kurt
He has lived all of his 18 years alone
Well he only had his friends to thank
Otherwise he would have never made it through high school
He never had a date and when his friends did he would be home alone
It seemed like the lonleliness would never end
Untill one day he met Marggie
Who had many men in her life but never the right one
They were always unfaithful or were too much of boys for her to like
She was 17 and always had a date
But this was a new town
She had just moved here and all that changed...
She was on her way out of the little resturant by the dock one day
"Good Afternoon" he said to her
"As to you" she said
And with those words those three words
He knew she was something special
For not one white person ever said anything to him...
This town is not segrigated at all
But the people in it deffinately dissagree
Every day fights break out over the color of someones skin
But the town refused to sgrigate
So one day he was walking downtown and again he saw her
He waltzed right on up to her and sterted to talk to her
Every thing he said was magical
She too knew he also was special
So they kept walking down the street as people snickered and sneered
But they didn't care and just kept walking
And laughing and smiling
This was the happiest Kurt had ever been
He had fallen in love
So when she had to go he walked her home
"I hope to see you again" he told her
She told him to meet her at the Coca-Cola shack on the outskirts of town
The next day he was eager to see her and ran the whole way there
They had a bottle of soda and taked for hours
At the end of their date she told him that she wanted to be with him for ever
They kissed and went home
It was late June and her graduation day was coming up
They vowed that the day after they would run away
Her mother would not allow her to love a colored man
Kurt could drive and he had already graduated
So the days went by as they eagerly looked forward to their special day
Then years went by and they got married and had three children
Two girls and a boy
But as the kids got older it got more difficult
They started to wonder why their mommy and daddy were different from eachother
It became harder to pay the bills with the kids growing up and another one on the way
They were still in love though
But with Marggie 8 months prenant there would be disaster in the near future
On the day she went into labor she gave birth but both her and the baby didn't make it
So Kurt went on with his and the children's lives and each day became even harder
He missed her so much and thought about her every day
But nothing could bring her back to him
The years went by and the children the the nest and went on there own
He got older and thought it might be time to vist the past
He moved back to NEHI and cought up with his old friends
They were never married and had no kids they only had eachother
As Kurt kept aging he never stopped telling this story
It has been around NEHI for years and the story still lives on
As a matter of fact I headr this story right from him when I was just 5 years old
And untill this day I still remember it every word, breath, and hand gesture he made
